Having had my share of difficulties in school in my earlier years I found I was interested in education and ultimately got a degree in special education from NYU. Working for a number of years with emotionally disturbed children, I eventually spent some time as an administrator. Unhappy with the lack of direct contact with children I went back to school, earning a degree in school psychologist from Queens college. Working on school teams I did evaluations, wrote educational plans, worked with teachers and did some counseling. Around this time, I also began doing college teaching for Hofstra, Mercy College and a few other schools which I found to be very fulfilling. Aside from my work as a school psychologist I am also a working musician having a jazz band with my son. I am also an avid chess player, a dog lover and a proud parent of two grown children.
