Thomas Tenaglia, a Probation Officer since 2006, joined Mercy in September 2011 as an
adjunct professor in the School of Social and Behavioral Science. Mr. Tenaglia started as a
Probation Officer in the Schoharie County Probation Department before transferring to the
Westchester County Department of Probation where he is currently employed. In his current
position as a Probation Officer, he is also a departmental instructor training fellow officers in
various topics related to the field of probation. As part of his duties, he works closely with
treatment providers, local, county and supreme courts, educational programs in the
collaboration of maintaining public safety and offender accountability. He also co-facilitates
treatment groups for individuals under court ordered supervision.
