Dear Faculty and Staff,
In response to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, our highest priorities are the health and safety of our community and ensuring that our students have a clear road ahead to finish their semester with as much support as possible.
Everyone across the College directly impacts our students’ success, and I appreciate the way our faculty and staff have adapted so quickly to this changing environment. Based on the most recent events, the College has decided to deliver essential services on a limited basis on campus and to extend telecommuting for other functions through March 29.
Because this is a rapidly changing situation, these plans may be adjusted, and we appreciate your flexibility as we navigate through this.
Extended Telecommuting Schedule
Effective Monday, March 16, faculty and staff will continue to work remotely according to their regular schedule through Sunday, March 29, however, staff designated by their supervisors to support on-campus operations are asked to report to campus as directed. Staff in need of a health-related accommodation should contact the Office of Human Resources. If you have questions about working remotely, please speak with your supervisor. Mercy’s telecommuting guidelines and other HR policies can be found here. Mercy’s IT Helpdesk is available 24/7 at helpdesk@mercy.edu or (914) 674-7526. If your supervisor has designated you to receive a Mercy-issued laptop, contact the Help Desk to make arrangements.
Events and Activities
All events and activities, including athletic events, taking place on or off campus, are cancelled through Sunday, March 29. All Mercy sponsored travel, including attendance at conferences and seminars, is cancelled. The East Coast Conference (ECC) announced today cancellation of the spring 2020 sports season, which takes effect March 13, 2020. Questions about this schedule change can be directed to athletics@mercy.edu.
At this time, plans for Mercy’s Commencement ceremonies are unchanged. This is subject to change based on the guidance of health officials. We will keep the community informed as decisions are made.
Academic Instruction
To maintain academic continuity for students, instruction will move online beginning Monday, March 16 through Sunday, March 22. There are no classes during spring recess, which is Monday, March 23 through Sunday, March 29. During this period, we will assess whether to continue online instruction further.

Student Health Office
The Student Health Office in Main Hall Room 127 at the Dobbs Ferry Campus is open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. by appointment only. Please call (914) 674-7255 prior to arriving to schedule an appointment. The Student Health Office at the Bronx Campus is temporarily closed. Please contact the Dobbs Ferry Campus Office. Tele-med services will also be available.

The Mav Market
The Mav Market Food Pantry has closed its physical pantry spaces through March 29. As an alternative, food and supplies may be ordered online and are available for pickup starting Monday, March 16. Individuals in need of assistance may use the Emergency Food Request Form to place an order to be picked up at the Bronx, Dobbs Ferry, Manhattan, or New Rochelle Campuses.
Residential Life
Mercy College residence halls remain open and the Office of Residential Life is working with residential students to assess their needs and provide assistance during this time. Essential services including food, security, facilities and maintenance will remain in place for residential students.
Online Tutoring
The Tutoring Center will offer online tutoring services on an revised schedule. Please visit their website here for more information.
Mail Room
The Mail Room at the Tarrytown Offices and New Rochelle Location will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
