Mercy College Professor Dr. Rossi Hassad Coronavirus Article Published on MedPage Today
An article written by Mercy College Professor Rossi Hassad, Ph.D., MPH has been published in MedPage Today on the epidemiology of coronavirus and the risk of infection within the United States. The article entitled, “Novel Coronavirus: Understanding the Epidemiology,” explains that in order to effectively stem the epidemic, clear and precise understanding of transmission dynamics is necessary.
Hassad, who is an epidemiologist, reiterates that from a reasoned epidemiological perspective, the risk of infection within the United States remains low to zero, and active and substantive research is in progress to develop a vaccine. According to Hassad, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other agencies are working optimally to keep America safe from coronavirus, which should be reassuring to the public.
Hassad is a member of the American College of Epidemiology, and a fellow and chartered statistician of Britain's Royal Statistical Society.
