Mercy College Professor Rossi Hassad Featured in New York Magazine
Mercy College is proud to share that Professor of Psychology Rossi Hassad, Ph.D., MPH, has been featured in an article by New York Magazine that addresses recommendations from five academics and practitioners around the country on how to cope with fear and anxiety when the COVID-19 quarantine ends.
In the piece, Hassad explains that individuals may experience thoughts, feelings and behaviors associated with post-traumatic stress disorder and major depressive disorder. While these mental health conditions may become more prevalent, he believes that most people are resilient. For those in need of additional support, he encourages professional care, as well as the practice of mindfulness. Hassad also urges those in need of support to seek the many services offered by state and city health departments, the CDC and other healthcare organizations.
