Mercy’s Clinical Science Disciplines Host 2019 Wellness Fair
On October 3, 2019, Mercy College’s clinical science disciplines hosted a wellness fair to bring awareness to the diverse health services offered by the college, the lifestyle factors that impact health and wellness and the everyday choices Mercy students can adopt to lead healthier lives. The Truth Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving a culture where all youth and young adults reject tobacco, sponsored the fair.
Booths were set up by students, faculty and staff from various departments at Mercy College, and free giveaways were given to attendees. Participants could have their blood pressure taken, learn more about the harms of vaping and practice exercise routines. Information was distributed about the intramural teams open to students and other activities available on campus that promote physical and emotional health.
The clinical science disciplines are part of the greater Mercy College Wellness Initiative, a program that promotes comprehensive health education and practical tools to encourage multidimensional wellness for the Mercy community. The Wellness Fair is held annually and adapts to address the changing health needs of Mercy and college students.
